For the last episode of season one of Centre Snacks, Melanie Wong, a Mohawk College alumni and entrepreneur, talks about how she grew her business. She discusses with Centre for Entrepreneurship General Manager, Ryan Anderson, how she found an opportunity in a global pandemic.
Melanie Wong grew up in St. Catharines, ON, and attended Brock University and Mohawk College. Upon graduating she started her career at a major engineering firm and went off to start Olive + Splash shortly after. Melanie opened the world’s first clothing drive-thru in her hometown of Burlington, ON. Her innovative face mask was named the best bamboo mask made in Canada and her company was listed as one of the top 15 start-ups to watch in 2021. Olive + Splash is a collection of bamboo athluxury apparel made in Canada suiting ages 3-6 months to adult. The company is best known for its signature gold zipper hardware and butter-soft fabric in each hoodie + jogger set.
